Tri-County Entrepreneurial Development Corporation announces new rental rate

The Tri-County Entrepreneurial Development Corporation has announced a new, escalating scale rental rate for first year tenants of the Oconee Business Center (OBC).

For new tenants signing a one-year lease, the first three months will be free of charge, the next six months will be at half price and the rent will only be at the full base rate for the remaining three months. Pricing per month varies based on the size needed by client. This policy will insure that the first months in the life of a start-up will be economically possible.

The mission of the OBC is to nurture a start-up business during the critical first three years of existence. The center provides low cost office or warehouse/light manufacturing space, expert business mentoring, and all utilities, including internet. Acceptance to the OBC is by application.

Tenants of the OBC receive mentoring from the Piedmont chapter of SCORE (Senior Corps of Retired Executives). Nationally, SCORE is an organization of 15,000 members and is the mentoring arm of the US Small Business Administration.

“Our seasoned SCORE mentors have many years of combined business experience,” said Terry McKenney, Director of the Oconee Business Center. “Their involvement is crucial to the new entrepreneur just starting and continuing through the early years. It can make the difference between success and failure.”

The OBC is part of the economic development efforts of the Oconee Economic Alliance.
